1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Trino ("Trino", "App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the App, support channels, websites, and related features. Trino is designed to minimize personal data collection. The data processed depends on the features you choose to use, your device platform, connected accounts, app settings, region, and subscription status.
2. Summary
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use your personal data for third-party targeted advertising.
- We do not intentionally collect payment card numbers, account passwords, or sensitive account credentials.
- Google/YouTube account connection is optional and uses read-only access for user-facing import features.
- Social, shared playlist, most-played, party, backup, and connected-account features may process additional data only when you use those features.
- You can request deletion of Trino-related account, social, backup, or support data by contacting trinosupp@outlook.com.
3. Information we process
3.1. Local app and library data
Trino may store data on your device, including:
- playlists, favorites, playlist order, queue data, library items, track identifiers, titles, artists, albums, durations, source IDs, artwork URLs or cached artwork references;
- app settings, theme settings, playback preferences, quality settings, crossfade settings, discovery preferences, and feature toggles;
- local entitlement or purchase state needed to show Trino Plus features;
- local databases and preferences needed for core app functionality.
This data is primarily stored locally on your device unless you enable or use features that sync, back up, import, share, or transmit it.
3.2. iCloud, CloudKit, backup, restore, and sync data
On iOS, Trino may use Apple iCloud and CloudKit for account availability, backup, restore, sync, social features, and collaborative features. CloudKit data may include:
- a Trino user identifier derived from Apple services;
- public or semi-public Trino username/handle;
- friend relationships, friend requests, playlist requests, shared playlist metadata, imported playlist references, most-played data if enabled, and party/session data;
- private backup manifests, backup chunks, app settings, playlists, favorites, track IDs, source IDs, track metadata, artwork URLs, and restore data.
Backups are not intended to include downloaded media files, third-party account passwords, full authentication credentials, or payment card data.
3.3. Social and collaborative data
If you use Trino Social, shared playlists, friend features, most-played sharing, party features, or similar features, Trino may process:
- username/handle and profile status;
- friend requests, friend relationships, playlist requests, playlist imports, shared playlist information, shared playlist tracks, playlist update metadata, and timestamps;
- optional listening-related statistics, such as most-played tracks, only if you enable sharing;
- temporary party/session data needed to operate collaborative features.
Some social information may be visible to other users, such as your username, shared playlists, playlist metadata, friend-related interactions, and optional listening statistics you choose to share.
3.4. Google, YouTube, and other connected account data
Trino may allow you to connect a Google/YouTube account or another compatible third-party account to import playlists or user-authorized metadata.
For Google/YouTube import features, Trino currently requests read-only access using the YouTube readonly scope. Depending on the feature, Trino may process:
- playlist names, playlist IDs, playlist item IDs, video IDs, channel or owner display names, titles, thumbnails/artwork URLs, durations or metadata where available, and related identifiers;
- account authorization status required to complete the import.
Trino does not store your Google or YouTube password. Trino's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You may revoke Trino's access from your Google account permissions page or by using account/security controls provided by Google.
3.5. Lyrics, metadata, artwork, radio, discovery, and external lookup data
Trino may use external services to provide lyrics, metadata enrichment, artwork, radio directories, search, charts, discovery, and related features. Requests to these services may include technical lookup data such as:
- song title, artist name, album, duration, source ID, metadata query, search query, radio country, radio tags, radio station request, or artwork URL;
- technical request data such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and network information that third-party services may receive automatically when a request is made.
3.6. Purchases and subscriptions
Trino may offer optional purchases, subscriptions, lifetime unlocks, or tips through Apple In-App Purchase or another supported store. Payment processing, refunds, cancellations, renewals, taxes, and payment card handling are managed by the relevant store provider. Trino does not receive your full payment card number. Trino may store a local entitlement state, product ID, expiry date, purchase status, and related information needed to unlock or restore paid features.
3.7. Support, legal, and communications data
If you contact us, we may process:
- your email address;
- the content of your message;
- technical details you choose to provide, such as device model, OS version, app version, region, screenshots, logs, diagnostics, purchase information, or account identifiers;
- records needed to respond to support, privacy, copyright, platform, safety, or legal requests.
3.8. Diagnostics and logs
Trino may generate limited technical logs or diagnostics to troubleshoot crashes, playback issues, sync errors, purchase issues, CloudKit issues, Google/YouTube import issues, or feature failures. We do not intentionally log passwords, full authentication tokens, payment card numbers, or sensitive credentials.
3.9. Device permissions
Depending on enabled features, Trino may request platform permissions such as:
- iCloud/CloudKit access for backup, restore, social, and sync features;
- microphone access for voice search or voice-related functionality;
- camera access for QR code or party/social workflows;
- network access for playback, metadata, lyrics, radio, account import, purchases, and remote configuration.
Permission availability and prompts are controlled by your device operating system. You can usually manage permissions in your device settings.
4. Why we process data and legal bases

Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
5. Third-party services and processors
Trino may share or transmit limited data to third-party providers only as needed to provide app functionality, comply with law, protect rights, or support users. Third-party providers may process data under their own privacy policies and terms. Trino does not control third-party privacy practices.
6. Google API disclosures
If you connect a Google or YouTube account:
- Trino requests only the permissions needed for the visible user-facing import feature.
- Trino uses Google/YouTube data only to provide or improve features that are visible in the App.
- Trino does not sell Google user data.
- Trino does not use Google user data for targeted advertising, retargeting, personalized ads, creditworthiness, lending, or data brokerage.
- Trino does not allow human access to Google user data except where necessary for security, support requested by you, legal compliance, or aggregated internal operations allowed by policy.
- Trino does not transfer Google user data except as necessary to provide or improve the user-facing feature, comply with law, address security, or as otherwise allowed by Google policy with required consent.
You can revoke access through your Google account settings. After revocation, Trino may retain imported playlist/library metadata already stored in your local library, iCloud backup, or social data until you delete it or request deletion, unless retention is legally required.
7. Data sharing
We may share or transmit limited data:
- with providers needed to operate the App;
- with app stores and platform providers for purchases, entitlements, reviews, compliance, security, or platform features;
- with cloud services chosen or enabled by you, such as iCloud and CloudKit;
- with external services for metadata, lyrics, artwork, radio, search, and discovery requests;
- when you share playlists, social data, most-played data, party data, or profile data with other users;
- when required by law, court order, regulator, platform enforcement process, or rights holder process;
- to protect Trino, users, platforms, providers, or the public from security, fraud, abuse, copyright, or safety risks;
- as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of assets, subject to applicable law and user rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
8. International transfers
Trino is operated from Spain. Data may be processed in Spain, the European Union, the United States, or other countries where Apple, Google, Cloudflare, email providers, or other service providers operate. Where required by applicable law, we rely on adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, provider transfer mechanisms, your consent, performance of a contract, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
9. Retention
We keep data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Typical retention depends on the data type:
- local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset the App, or uninstall the App;
- iCloud/CloudKit backup and social data remains until you delete it, disable relevant features, delete your social profile, remove backups, or request deletion;
- imported playlist metadata may remain in your local library, playlists, iCloud backup, or shared playlists until deleted;
- support emails may be retained as needed to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations;
- purchase and transaction records may be retained by Apple or another store provider under their own policies and legal obligations;
- logs and diagnostics are kept only as long as needed for troubleshooting, security, compliance, or legal purposes.
Some residual data may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or provider systems before deletion completes.
10. Your choices and controls
Depending on the feature, you may:
- edit or delete playlists, favorites, and library data in the App;
- disable optional social or most-played sharing features;
- delete your Trino Social profile where the App provides that option;
- remove shared playlists or imported playlists;
- remove local app data by deleting content or uninstalling the App;
- manage iCloud data through Apple ID and iCloud settings;
- revoke Google/YouTube access through Google account permissions;
- manage App Store subscriptions through your Apple ID settings;
- manage device permissions through iOS or Android settings.
11. Account and data deletion
You may request deletion of Trino-related account, social, backup, support, or other personal data by contacting: trinosupp@outlook.com To protect users and prevent unauthorized deletion, we may need to verify your request. Some data may not be deleted immediately where retention is required or permitted for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, platform records, store transaction records, technical backups, or enforcement of rights.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- access your personal data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete data;
- restrict processing;
- object to processing;
- receive a portable copy of data;
- withdraw consent;
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

13. California and United States notices
If California privacy laws apply to Trino and to your data, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, limit, or opt out of certain uses of personal information. Trino does not sell personal information. Trino does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used under California privacy law. Categories of personal information that may be processed include identifiers, internet or network activity, commercial information related to purchases, user-generated content, device/app data, and inferences strictly related to app preferences or functionality.
Trino is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the age required by applicable law without required consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
14. Children's privacy and age limits
Trino is not directed to children under 13. Social, shared playlist, party, public profile, and connected-account features are not intended for users under 16 in the European Economic Area unless valid parental consent is obtained where required by law. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Trino, contact trinosupp@outlook.com so we can review and take appropriate action.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, Apple ID, iCloud account, Google account, third-party accounts, store accounts, and any credentials used with Trino.
16. Automated decision-making
Trino does not intentionally use personal data for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Trino may use local or app-level logic to personalize recommendations, organize library views, show discovery results, manage queues, detect feature eligibility, or improve user experience.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in Trino, law, platform rules, third-party services, data practices, or business operations. The updated version will show a new "Last updated" date. If required by law or platform policy, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
